Dear Friends,

My name is Keita Abdramane, I was a student when I came to Chisinau 20 years ago. It was quite common in the Soviet era that African students got a scholarship in the Moldovan State Universities. In 1992, I graduated from the "Agrarian State University of Moldova" with a PhD degree in biology.

Therefore, this small, lovely and quiet country in Eastern Europe fascinated me and I stayed to work. In fact, it was not my intention to stay in Moldova for the rest of my life. Three children and a Moldovan wife made me change my mind. As a co founder and the current President of "Fatima", I wanted to give the best of my self to those who are in need - the children.

Each person in this life hopes, to have a family, raise children and be happy. What is family? The family is the fundamental part of our society and the natural environment for the development, welfare and protection of children.

Exactly, whatever parents invest in a child should support him throughout his life. Forever, they will remember the gentle maternal eyes and the strength of the paternal soul. This means that each parent should face his responsibilities to ensure the family cohesion and protect the children's rights while avoiding separations, divorces or abandonment.

Unfortunately, these golden rules are not always applied. Often, families fall apart because of different reasons but, parents do not imagine how deep their decisions will hurt a child's soul. The economic problems, ethnic or cultural differences within a family, should not justify the violation of a child's rights.

According to some sources, in recent years in Moldova, more than 29% of children suffer from the absence of one or both parents. This factor may affect the health and development of a child, who as a principle must be protected and needs parental care.

The aim of our website is to help children who have only one parent or whose parents are away, to help them find their fathers or mothers. Those who are on the verge of a family

catastrophe, we will try to help them avoid difficult situations and also try to promote opportunities for family integration.

I hope that the comments and advice of our experts, good practices and information exchange via a forum will be very useful for everyone.
Also, you will find in this site the activities of the "Fatima" organization.

We are looking forward to your cooperation and feedback to the benefit of the children, families and the community.

Yours Sincerely,

Keita Abdramane

President of NGO "FATIMA"
